UKFM Overall Majorette Troupe in Suffolk
***********2005-2009************

Updated May 2008

Girls please let me know if you want me to add or change anything.

Natasha - ICE 1

Well...................where oh where do I begin............I have to try and write as much as Charlene has below!

At the age of 7 I was desperate to be a majorette, I begged my Mum and drove her mad everytime I saw a majorette troupe performing.  Finally she gave in and agreed I could join.  24 years ago I joined a troupe in Ipswich, but I didnt get on very well, (I remember them trying to teach me to twirl with a wooden stick with a red felt tip end!) and was devastated that my dream of being a majorette was short lived.

Luckily I had my mum on my side and she managed to find the Felixstowe Debenaires.  When I first went along I remember meeting the troupe leaders, Barbara and Arthur Harvey and thinking that they were an odd pair.  Many people had opinions about them, but I can truthfully say that I grew to love them and they helped to make me the person I am.

Unfortunately the troupe closed and I was really ready to hang up my gloves....or  Baton as the case may be.  However as fete may have it there was an advert in the paper for a trainer and yes you guessed it, I applied and joined the Ipswich Rebelettes.  Again this was a great troupe and we had many years of sucess.  When the troupe folded....so did I!.

To keep my hand in I did a bit of judging here and there and some how, after judging at the Hadleigh Carnival I ended up training a Colchester Troupe.  Thanks I may add to Arthur who got me involved again!!!!!!!!!

After a short time my sis, (who I owe a great deal of thanks to for her support through some very hard times, although she can be very bosy!) and I decided we should set up Ice Illusions and in 2000 we began.............

Need I say more???????????  We have achieved great sucess and I dearly love all the girls in our troupe. Everyone is so special to me as they keep my dream of majorettes alive and although at times, it is hard work, I am a BATON BUG and I dont think I will ever be able to give it up!

xxxxxxxx

Charlene - ICE 2

Well What can I say .... I have been a Majorette since I was 5 years old starting at a Troupe called the Felixstowe Debenaires.  Every week we trained very hard for competitions, fetes and carnivals - In this time I enjoyed learning all different twirls and I dreamed of running my own troupe with a girl called Helen - The Highway Twirlers.... needless to say at the age of 8 it was never going to happen for us !

After numerous happy years the troupe closed and we moved to the Ipswich Rebelettes - This is where we first met Judy and Carly ! Once again after a few years the troupe closed and I took a break from Majorettes and at the age of 15 I said I would never twirl my baton again !!

But of course you know different a year or so passed and Natasha got involved with a Colchester Troupe so I helped out at training and few times but before we knew it we had decided to start Ice Illusions.

8 years later things are going well and im very pleased with the troupes progress and good reputation in the UKFM.

The SAM competitions have seen us bring home more and more trophies and I have high hopes for the future.

Neither Natasha or I have any doubts about Majorettes and we plan to continue until Milly and Isabelle are old enough to take over.

But the running of the troupe would not be so smooth with out the support of Our Family and Husbands and of course the girls and there parents.... A BIG Thank you for everyone who has supported us through the years and long may it continue...... :))
